The foundation of Wayland's Pandemic Flu Plan are ourselves. We need to create a Neighborhood/Block Volunteer Network whereby neighbors assist each other. We need Volunteers to act as Block Monitors for their Block. If a highly lethal form of Pandemic Flu strikes and society's structures, systems and social fabric breakdown schools/business closures, loss of services, reduced supplies of food, medications, excessive absenteeism, overwhelmed medical services, etc.), Wayland needs to have a Wayland Neighborhood System and cadre of Volunteers to assist and respond to individuals and families. If someone runs out of medicine, food, support services, transportation, elder care needs, childcare, becomes ill, we need to be there to assist. If you wish to volunteer for your Block, please email him, also noting your address, contact #s, your neighborhood, and any special area of expertise. Arnold Soslow, MD
